SHOUT OUT TO POTENTIAL DIRECTORS
FOR HEART BOARD
WE ARE LOOKING FOR NEW DIRECTORS TO JOIN THE HEART BOARD.
As most of you will know, HEART opened in 2011, thanks to the hard work of
Headingley Development Trust (HDT) and local residents who strived to keep
this wonderful building in community use. Home to the Assembly Bar + Kitchen
and Pulse business workspace, HEART is a place for professional gatherings, private
functions, and community classes, and hosts a rich programme of arts and
events. Our vision is to create a vibrant and welcoming space for a wide range
of people to meet, mix, work and play.
HEART is a company limited by guarantee and a social enterprise. It has no
grant funding or subsidy, reinvesting any surpluses straight back into improving
the quality of the building fabric, and enhancing the experience of users and
customers. We have a team of marvellous staff and volunteers, including a
Board of Directors. We are keen to expand the Board further. So that we can
really support our people and our business through the tough times ahead, we
are hoping in particular there might be someone out there with HR skills.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PLAY A PART IN THE GOVERNANCE OF THIS ICONIC AND
MUCH-LOVED DESTINATION, PLEASE CONTACT ALAN BESWICK, HDT’S SOCIETY
SECRETARY AT INFO@HEADINGLEYDEVELOPMENTTRUST.ORG.UK. HE WILL
BE ABLE TO ARRANGE FOR YOU TO HAVE AN INFORMAL DISCUSSION ABOUT THE
ROLE WITH ISOBEL MILLS, HEART CHAIR, OR LIZ WESTMORLAND, BOARD LEAD
FOR VOLUNTEERING.
